Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 May 2026
The short version: CalmMaker doesn't have user accounts, doesn't ask you to sign in, and doesn't upload your photos or recordings anywhere. The content you create stays on your device. The app uses a few standard third-party services (advertising, purchases, anonymous analytics) and this policy explains exactly what they collect.
1. About the App
CalmMaker is an everyday support app that helps people leave home with more peace of mind. It lets you build checklists (e.g. doors, windows, iron, stove, hair straightener) and attach photos or short videos as a personal record — for the moments later in the day when you find yourself wondering "did I really lock it?". Entries are deleted automatically after a time you set, so nothing piles up in the app or in your phone's gallery.
CalmMaker (the "App") is developed by Misiak Team ("we", "us"). For any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at calmmakerapp@gmail.com.
Important — not a medical device. CalmMaker is a supportive, organizational tool. It is not a medical device and is not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Pre-departure stress is a common experience, including for people with OCD, ADHD, or on the autism spectrum, and the app may help you organize daily routines — but it does not replace medical advice, psychotherapy, or treatment. If you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, compulsions, or significant anxiety, please consider reaching out to a qualified mental health professional.
2. Data you create in the App
When you use CalmMaker, you may create checklists, entries, photos, and video recordings. All of this content is stored locally on your device in the App's private storage. We do not have access to it. We do not upload it to any server. It is never transmitted off your device.
When you delete an entry — manually or via auto-cleanup — the associated photos and videos are permanently removed from the App's storage.
3. Data collected by third-party services
The App uses a small number of third-party services that operate independently of us. Each has its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | What it may collect |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Android) | Showing ads in the free version | Advertising ID, device info, approximate location, ad interactions |
| Google Play Billing | Processing the optional Pro purchase | Purchase tokens, product IDs (handled by Google) |
| Apple StoreKit (iOS) | Processing the optional Pro purchase | Purchase receipts (handled by Apple) |
| Kotzilla SDK | Anonymous usage analytics & crash reporting | Anonymous app usage events, crash diagnostics, device model, OS version |
3.1 Google AdMob
In the free version of the App we display ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and other technical information to deliver and measure ads. You can review Google's policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
Purchasing the Pro version permanently removes ads from the App and stops AdMob from being used.
3.2 In-app purchases
The Pro upgrade is processed by Google Play (Android) or Apple's App Store (iOS). We never see your payment details. We only receive a purchase token that confirms whether you own the Pro version on the active device account.
3.3 Anonymous analytics
We use Kotzilla SDK to understand how features are used (e.g. which screens are opened) and to receive crash reports. These reports do not include the content of your checklists, photos, or videos. They are linked only to anonymous, randomly generated identifiers.
4. Permissions the App requests
- Camera — to take photos and record videos that you choose to attach to checklist items or to a quick entry.
- Storage / Photos — to save the photos and videos in the App's private storage. They are not added to your phone's gallery.
- Notifications (optional) — only if you opt in to reminders.
All permissions are used solely for App features. No data captured under these permissions is sent off your device.
5. Sensitive context & non-medical use
We are aware that some users come to CalmMaker because checking the door, the iron, or the stove is a source of significant anxiety, sometimes connected to conditions such as OCD or ADHD. Out of respect for that:
- We do not infer, store, or share any information about your mental or physical health.
- The App does not contain therapeutic content, prompts, or interventions.
- Anonymous analytics (see section 3.3) measure feature usage in aggregate and never the content of your checklists, photos, or recordings.
- If you choose to discuss your use of the App with a clinician, screenshots remain entirely under your control — nothing is exported or shared by the App itself.
6. Children's privacy
CalmMaker is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can investigate.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the following rights regarding any personal data:
- Right to access — request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data
- Right to object to processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Because most data stays on your device, you can exercise the right to erasure by uninstalling the App. For data held by third parties (AdMob, Kotzilla), please use their respective opt-out tools. Step-by-step instructions are on our Data Deletion page.
8. International data transfers
The third-party services listed above may process data in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are governed by the privacy frameworks and standard contractual clauses adopted by those providers.
9. Data retention
Content you create in the App is retained until you delete it (manually or via auto-cleanup) or uninstall the App. Third-party services retain data according to their own retention schedules.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page.
